This flight was nicknamed Clay’s Pigeons. It purpose was to test the Russian reaction to flights to Berlin.

This route assumes that winds are from the west. If winds are from the east procedures are different.

Your assigned altitude is 5,000’

Maintain 145 knots to Berlin, and 145 knots on the return flight.

Take off from Rhein-Main RW 25 Climb to 1,000’ AGL then turn

South toward DT 272.0 and continue climb to 5,000’

Plan your descent to cross over DIP at 2000’ Continue 360deg for 1 ½ minutes.

Turn to 90deg then continue at 90deg for 1 min descending to 1500’

Turn to 180deg and descend to 1000’ then intercept the 270deg to DIP 327 and

intercepting ILS 109.5 for RW 27L

Continue at 1,000’ as you pass over Templehof then turn to intercept WZ
