734 heading onto the iron bridge across the National Pike US 40 in the "Narrows"

This picture taken from Locust Grove Rd. adjacent to the CSX Connellsville line tracks.

734's beautiful whistle can be heard for miles as she crosses Cash Valley Road (MD 831) and heads into Helmstetter's Curve

A classic view of Helmstetters Curve taken from a hill in the cemetery off of Cash Valley Rd.

The sound of "Thunder in the Mountains" preceded 734 by several minutes. Finally the train rounds the bend into the Frostburg MD station.

WMSR 734 slows to a stop alongside the restored depot.

"Holy Smoke!" I was still wiping cinders out of my hair hours later.

The hogger check his bearings for excessive heat.

After uncoupling from it's consist, 734 heads off for the turntable.

The turntable rapidly spins 734 around to line up with the passing track.

With a toot of the whistle 734 chugs off to couple on to the rear of her train, and prepare for the return down the mountain to Cumberland.

On the way home, we passed under the Western Maryland's Salisbury Viaduct that spans the Cassleman River and the CSX tracks just north of Meyersdale PA.
